After several years of development, Songs of Glimmerwick has been released for PC. Developed by Eastshade Studios, the same team behind the popular game Eastshade, this new title transports players to a magical world where spells are cast through music. In Songs of Glimmerwick, players take on the role of a student at a prestigious magic university situated on a mysterious island. Here, magic is performed through melodies played on a loyal flute, allowing players to interact with the environment in unique ways—such as communicating with trees, enchanting tools, or altering the landscape to uncover new areas. The game combines elements of narrative-driven role-playing, exploration, and life simulation. Outside of academic pursuits, players can engage in a variety of activities, such as tending to the university garden, cultivating different plants, fishing, diving for shells, or participating in an orchestra. The island itself changes with the seasons, offering festivals, unique inhabitants, and a wealth of stories to discover. Building relationships with students, professors, and villagers is a key part of the experience, and all dialogue is fully voiced in English. Progression in Songs of Glimmerwick offers a degree of freedom, allowing players to unlock various skills that enhance abilities in gardening, trade, or even gaining unique powers, such as the ability to communicate with frogs. The player's character can be customized to suit individual preferences. The game is available on PC and can be experienced through a demo, giving players a chance to explore its world before committing to the full release.
