Martha seeks connection through AI

After losing her boyfriend, Ash, in a traffic accident, Martha decides to use a new technology that compiles all of his online interactions and message history to create an artificial intelligence that recreates his way of communicating.

AI mimics Ash's communication

At first, Martha receives simple written messages from the AI, then progresses to phone calls with the AI that imitates Ash's voice. Over time, the technology becomes more advanced and emotionally engaging.

Android replica of Ash is purchased

Eventually, Martha ends up buying an android with the physical appearance of her deceased love. This marks a significant step in her attempt to maintain a connection with Ash through technology.

Dystopian vision becomes reality

Ten years ago, this was a dystopia imagined by the series Black Mirror in the episode "Soon Back." Today, reality is not very far from that fictional scenario.

Digital memory outlives physical death

Now, if that is our wish, memory no longer ends up in the cemetery but on servers, somewhere in the world. In the 21st century, death is no longer necessarily a complete disappearance.

Data ecosystem after death

When our lives end, we leave behind not only a body, but an entire ecosystem of data for which others will have to make choices. Previously, there was a watch, a ring, a coat, letters. Today, they are emails, WhatsApp messages, voice notes, files, videos and photos in the cloud, purchase histories, travel histories, movement data, biometric data.
