New soundbar design unveiled

Marshall has introduced a new Cream finish for its Heston 120 soundbar, which combines the brand's iconic design with advanced audio capabilities. The Heston 120 Cream is designed to provide an immersive experience for films, video games, and music, aiming to transform the living room into a dedicated entertainment space.

Design and aesthetics

The Heston 120 Cream features a woven grille, faux leather details, and lines inspired by the brand's famous amplifiers, with the Cream finish offering a more contemporary look suitable for minimalist interiors. It measures 1.10 m wide and 7.6 cm in height, making it suitable for use with a 55-inch or larger television.

Technical specifications

The soundbar uses an 11-speaker configuration in a 5.1.2 setup, which includes speakers emitting sound to the sides and ceiling to enhance the sound scene using Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats. Two built-in subwoofers supported by four passive radiators provide depth to action scenes without an additional enclosure.

Room calibration and controls

The Heston 120 Cream includes two microphones for room calibration, allowing the soundbar to adjust the sound output based on the living room's acoustics. Calibration is done through an application that also provides access to an equalizer and four sound modes: Music, Movie, Night, and Voice.

Gaming and connectivity

For gaming, the Heston 120 Cream includes an HDMI 2.1 input that supports 4K at 120 Hz and Dolby Vision, and an HDMI eARC port for connecting to the television. This allows direct connection of a console to the soundbar without using an additional HDMI port on the television.

Additional features and models

The Heston 120 Cream can also play tracks from a pre-amplified vinyl turntable via its RCA input and offers connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 compatible with Auracast, and compatibility with online music platforms. The Marshall Heston range includes the Heston 60 and Heston Sub 200, both available in the Cream finish. The Heston 120 is priced at 999 euros and comes in Black and Cream finishes.
