Auchan Télécom, a virtual mobile operator that uses the Bouygues Telecom network, is offering a special limited-time mobile plan. The plan includes 5 GB of 4G data for use in mainland France, 5 GB of data for roaming in Europe and the overseas departments (DOM) — except for Switzerland and Andorra — along with unlimited calls, SMS, and MMS in France, Europe, and the DOM. If the data limit is exceeded, the speed will be reduced but no extra charges will apply. The SIM card costs 5 euros with free delivery, and the offer is available until September 13, 2026. The plan can be canceled at any time and is available directly on the operator's website for 2.99 euros per month. The 5 GB data allowance is roughly equivalent to twenty hours of streaming music, ten hours of browsing the web and using social media, or fifteen hours of using GPS navigation. However, video streaming, especially in high definition, uses nearly one gigabyte per hour. If users mainly watch videos at home, the 5 GB limit may be enough, but those who frequently stream on their mobile devices may need a larger data allowance. This plan is particularly well-suited for first-time phone users, such as middle school or high school students, due to its low cost and lack of additional charges for exceeding data limits. It can also be useful as a backup line or to separate personal and professional numbers. The coverage is the same as Bouygues Telecom’s network, and users can check signal strength using the ARCEP map before ordering. To keep their existing mobile number when switching to a new plan, users can call 3179 to get their RIO number. They can then provide this number when ordering the new plan, allowing the new operator to transfer the number at no cost. Other data plans available include options with 100 GB, 200 GB, or even up to 250 GB of data, all with varying levels of data allowance in France and Europe, along with unlimited calls. These plans cater to different usage levels and budgets. French Days 2026, a special event focused on back-to-school deals, runs until September 14, 2026.
