AliExpress offers discount on Nintendo Switch 2

AliExpress is offering the Nintendo Switch 2 for 420.88 euros using the code FRD11100 during its 11.11 sale, which runs until November 12. This price is lower than the recommended retail price of 499.99 euros and also below the console’s launch price of 469.99 euros, which was set after Nintendo raised the price to 499.99 euros on September 1.

Features of the Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2, released in June 2025, continues the hybrid design of its predecessor with a 7.9-inch screen, 256 GB of storage, and redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers that attach via magnets. It does not include any games, and its screen can display up to 1080p at 120 Hz with variable refresh rate in portable mode, and 4K at 60 frames per second when connected to a compatible television.

Enhanced Joy-Con 2 and performance

The redesigned Joy-Con 2 are larger and more ergonomic, and they can be used as a mouse thanks to their optical sensor. The GameChat function allows voice chat through the built-in microphone. The console's battery life is between 2 and 6.5 hours, with tests showing approximately 3 hours on demanding games and 5 to 6 hours on lighter titles. However, the console is 534 grams, which may be heavy for extended handheld sessions.

Comparison with other portable consoles

The Nintendo Switch 2 is not the only option for portable gaming. In a comparison of the best portable consoles, the Switch Lite is considered the best value for money due to its lightweight and compact design. The Steam Deck OLED is also appealing for its 90 Hz OLED screen and improved battery life. The Switch 2 ranks fourth in such comparisons, praised for its screen and performance but criticized for its high price.
