The Champions Cup and Challenge Cup are set to expand their audience in Latin America, as the European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) has signed a broadcasting deal with FOX Latin America. This agreement will allow the two rugby competitions to be shown in Mexico, Central America, South America, the Dominican Republic, and Belize during the 2026/2027 season. However, Brazil will not be included in the broadcast. FOX will air a large number of group stage matches and all of the knockout rounds, including the final matches. The return of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup to traditional TV channels in Latin America will be supported by digital and on-demand streaming options. The first European matches will be broadcast during the weekend of October 16, 17, and 18, with a second round scheduled for December. This marks a return to an autumn start for the competitions, similar to the schedule used before the pandemic. Argentina is a central part of this strategy, as the country has a strong rugby tradition and its players have long been part of European teams. The presence of Argentine players in European clubs provides FOX with a way to connect with local audiences. This deal completes EPCR’s global broadcasting plan, which already includes partnerships with France Télévisions and beIN SPORTS in France, Premier Sports in the UK and Ireland, SuperSport in South Africa, and FloRugby in the United States. The increased visibility of the competitions comes as the 2026/2027 season will conclude in France. After four group stages and a final phase starting in early April, both competitions will culminate at the OL Stadium in Lyon. The Challenge Cup final is scheduled for Friday, May 21, and the Champions Cup final for Saturday, May 22, 2027. Lyon will host the European finals eleven years after the 2016 edition, when Saracens won the Champions Cup and Montpellier won the Challenge Cup.
