Portable heater offers smart control

The Philips CX5120/11 is a portable heater designed to heat an office or a room up to 20 square meters without activating the heating system for the entire house. It connects via Wi-Fi to the Philips Air+ application for remote control and is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. The heater is currently available on Amazon at a discounted price of 79.99 euros, which is 20 euros less than its usual price of 99.99 euros, representing a 20% discount.

Heater features compact and adjustable design

The Philips CX5120/11 is a powerful heater with a maximum power of 2000 W and a 60-degree oscillation to cover a room of 20 square meters. It is controllable via the Air+ application, Alexa, and Google Assistant. The heater has a compact column design, standing 58 cm high, and features dark gray and black shades to blend well with interior decor. It is particularly light at only 2.4 kg and equipped with an integrated handle at the back, making it easy to move between rooms. A display screen on the front serves as a control panel, indicating the temperature measured around the device and allowing users to adjust all heater settings with a single press, without needing to use a smartphone.

PTC ceramic technology enables quick heating

According to Philips, the heater can raise the temperature in 2 seconds thanks to the PTC ceramic technology. Its 60-degree oscillation helps prevent a continuous stream of hot air from being directed at the same spot. Users can set their ideal temperature between 1 and 37 degrees Celsius and choose between two power levels: 1200 W for gentle heating or 2000 W for a rapid temperature rise.

App allows remote control and energy-saving features

The Air+ application allows remote control of the heater, enabling users to turn it on before arriving home, schedule time slots, or set a timer from 1 to 12 hours. The application includes an "Auto+" mode that activates the "Eco AI" technology, which is supposed to adjust the power according to the room temperature and user habits. Philips claims up to 50% energy savings when comparing the device with itself in manual mode, without a thermostat. However, when facing a heater simply controlled by a thermostat, the brand no longer promises more than 25% at maximum. The actual savings will depend on the insulation of the home and user habits.

Safety features and noise levels

In terms of noise, Philips states 40.5 dB at the lowest speed, but the technical sheet indicates up to 55 dB at full power, which can be heard in a bedroom at night. The heater is described as a 2000 W auxiliary heater, suitable for small rooms and occasional use. Philips includes several safety features: automatic shut-off if the heater tips over, automatic shut-off in case of overheating (starting at 85 degrees Celsius), a certified VDE plug, fire-resistant materials, and automatic shut-off after 24 hours of inactivity.
