Alec, a 12-year-old French singer, will represent France at the Eurovision Junior contest with his song "Comment tu vas ?" (which translates to "How are you?"). This international singing competition for children and teenagers is known for its vibrant performances and global appeal. France has a strong history in the contest, having won four times before—most recently with 11-year-old Lou Deleuze in 2023. Alec will perform on October 24 in Malta, aiming to give France its fifth victory in the youth version of the event. The French delegation officially announced Alec’s selection on September 24. The Eurovision Junior event will be broadcast live on October 24 at 21:00 local time in Malta. It will be available on France Télévisions’ streaming platform, france.tv, and on the French television channel France 4. Alexandra Redde-Amiel, head of the French delegation and director of events for France Télévisions, praised Alec as "a musician of exceptional talent, a solar artist with a rare sensitivity, who is one with his piano." His song, "Comment tu vas ?," starts with a soft piano melody and vocal delivery before building into an energetic and engaging performance. France has been a dominant force in the Eurovision Junior contest, holding the record for the most victories with four wins. The country previously won in 2020 with Valentina, in 2022 with Lissandro, and in 2023 with Zoé Clauzure. Last year’s win in Tbilisi marked France’s fourth overall victory, tying with Georgia for the most in the competition’s history. This year, France hopes Alec will carry the torch and bring home another win. Eurovision Junior is an annual event that brings together young performers from across Europe and beyond. The competition is broadcast live, allowing fans around the world to watch the performances and vote for their favorites. Alec’s participation highlights France’s continued commitment to supporting young talent in music and international competitions.
