A €100 million fund for Italian film and TV production launches, aiming to bridge financing gaps in the country's growing audiovisual sector.
New fund for Italian film and TV
A new €100 million financing fund targeting film and television production and distribution in Italy was unveiled on 20 October at Rome's MIA | Rome International Audiovisual Market. The initiative, named One Media Capital Fund, brings together the Italian financial services group RP1 Holding and the US-based private credit investment platform MCT Credit Solutions, with the aim of providing alternative financing solutions to audiovisual companies operating in the country.Conference highlights fund's goals
The announcement was made during the "New Capital, New Opportunities" conference, held as part of MIA's European Investment Hub. Speakers included Mauro Martani, CEO of RP1 Holding, Raj Singh, CEO of MCT Credit Solutions, and Stephen Saltzman, Partner and Head of the International Entertainment Group at Fieldfisher.Fund focuses on liquidity and growth
With an initial endowment of €100 million, the fund will target Italian and international film and television producers alongside film distributors supporting projects undertaken in Italy. Its financing model is designed to complement conventional bank lending, addressing liquidity shortages during production and enabling companies to reinvest resources in the development of new projects.Addressing industry challenges
The initiative responds to structural challenges facing the Italian audiovisual sector, whose annual production value exceeds €2 billion, according to the 2025 report by the Italian Audiovisual Producers Association (APA). Indeed, despite its international appeal and established production infrastructure, the industry remains fragmented, and delayed revenues and incentive payments can create cash-flow difficulties for independent producers.Management and next steps
The fund will be managed by Ingenii SGR, which specialises in private credit and alternative investments. MCT Italy, established through the partnership between RP1 Holding and MCT Credit Solutions, will serve as its industrial platform, while RP1 subsidiary PlusOne Advisory will identify and preliminarily assess potential financing opportunities. Martani stressed the need for financial instruments tailored to the specific requirements of audiovisual production, pointing to persistent difficulties in accessing credit.Immediate plans and industry focus
He also confirmed that discussions are already under way to finance a first set of projects before the end of 2026. The launch represents another attempt to attract international private capital to Italy's screen industries, at a time when alternative funding models and access to finance have emerged as central themes of this year's MIA.
