Rouge, Koshō, and Bonnies are among the 85 restaurants competing in the TheFork Awards 2026, a competition that celebrates excellence in dining. The public has until October 19 to cast their votes, with the winners to be announced on November 30 in Bordeaux. In Marseille, three restaurants are in the running: Rouge, led by chef Louise Perrone; Koshō, run by Éric Maillet; and Bonnies, managed by Megan Moore. These three are part of eight restaurants from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region selected for the seventh edition of the awards. The competition uses a two-step process. First, recognized chefs recommend new restaurants that have been open for less than two years. Then, the general public votes for their favorites, with 85 restaurants from across the country competing in total, offering a range of dining experiences from casual neighborhood spots to fine dining. Rouge, located at 147 avenue Joseph-Vidal in the 8th arrondissement, focuses on local products, seafood, and vegetables. Chef Louise Perrone, who recently appeared on the French television show Top Chef on M6, creates seasonal menus that change with the availability of ingredients. Her nomination is supported by chefs Christophe Chiavola and Christophe Raoux. Meanwhile, Koshō, at 81 rue Breteuil in the 6th arrondissement, offers a different kind of experience. The restaurant, which is located at the site of their former restaurant Cédrat, was created by Éric Maillet and Maëlyss Vultaggio. Inspired by their travels in Southeast Asia and their interest in Japanese cuisine, the restaurant features a Southeast Asian-style cafeteria at lunch and transforms into an izakaya in the evening—Japanese-style dining where dishes are shared with drinks, with a Mediterranean twist. Éric Maillet’s nomination is supported by chef Ludovic Turac. Bonnies, situated at 89 cours Lieutaud, is a neighborhood bistro run by Scottish chef Megan Moore. Having previously worked in Livingston, she has transformed the former Saint James bar into a place offering daily dishes and classic favorites, maintaining the cozy atmosphere of a traditional tavern. Her nomination is backed by chef Emmanuel Perrodin. In addition to the three Marseille restaurants, five other establishments from the region are also competing: Lou Patio in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Jacquemard in Lambesc, Les Saisonniers in La Croix-Valmer, Maison Bellet in Nice, and Le Café de la Fontaine in La Turbie. To vote, internet users can visit the TheFork Awards website, where they can find the list of selected restaurants and cast their vote until October 19, 2026. The winners will be announced on November 30 during a ceremony in Bordeaux, marking the end of the competition and celebrating the best new restaurants in France.
