Andria Bartishvili, a 17-year-old Georgian football prodigy, is set to finalize his move to Arsenal this weekend. The English club has secured the young talent despite competition from other top European teams, including Liverpool. Bartishvili arrived in London on Thursday and is expected to sign a five-year contract with Arsenal, which will officially take effect next summer when he turns 18 in March. Bartishvili will join Arsenal from the Georgian club Kolkheti 1913. He has drawn comparisons to another Georgian player, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has already made a name for himself in European football. After announcing his move, Bartishvili took to Instagram to express his gratitude, saying, “A very big thank you to everyone for the congratulations.” Willy Sagnol, the former French international and current coach of the Georgian national team, has praised Bartishvili’s talent. However, Sagnol also stressed that raw ability alone is not enough for success in professional football. He emphasized the importance of mental strength and proper development, using Kvaratskhelia as a model of how talent can be nurtured into success. In addition to Bartishvili, Arsenal has been strengthening its youth ranks this summer by signing several young academy players. Among those added to the squad are Igor Tyjon, Vincent Joseph, Axel Donczew, Elijah Upson, and Mylo Bernard, all of whom are expected to contribute to the club's future development.
