Google introduces Docs Live feature

Google has introduced a new feature called Docs Live, which allows users to create documents by voice using its Gemini AI technology on Android and iPhone devices. This feature is part of the company's ongoing effort to integrate its AI capabilities more deeply into its services.

Docs Live uses contextual data

According to Android Authority, Docs Live can pull information from emails, conversations, and files stored on Google Drive to enrich the content of the documents being created. This helps users generate more detailed and contextually relevant documents through voice input.

Users can dictate or describe ideas

With Docs Live, users have the option to either dictate text word for word or describe their ideas in natural language. In the latter case, Gemini AI handles the writing process, translating the user's verbal instructions into structured text.

Customization options for final documents

Users can provide general instructions to the large language model (LLM) and then specify the format or structure of the final document. This feature allows for greater flexibility in how documents are created and organized.

Availability of Docs Live

Docs Live is now available across the entire Google Workspace suite. It is accessible to users who have subscribed to specific plans, including Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise, Standard and Plus, Google AI Pro for Education, AI Expanded Access, as well as Google AI Pro and AI Ultra.
