Spiripontains participate in breast cancer events

Approximately sixty Spiripontains participated in events at the Cazerne Pépin during October, a month dedicated to breast cancer screening, on Tuesday, October 14. These events were part of a broader initiative to highlight the importance of early detection and support for those affected by the disease.

Community efforts for breast cancer awareness

The activities were organized by sports, cultural, and charitable associations in Pont-Saint-Esprit to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The goal was also to encourage women to undergo screening and to support those affected by the disease.

Mayor emphasizes early detection and prevention

Valère Segal, the mayor and a radiologist, stated, "We can reduce the impact of cancers by detecting them early. By vaccinating girls and boys against the human papillomavirus, we can even eliminate cervical cancer, as certain countries have done." He emphasized the importance of speaking, explaining, and convincing people about the value of screening and prevention.

Solidarity events continue in October

An information stand and a solidarity sale for "La planète de Louise" will take place on Tuesday, October 20, during the producers' market at the Cazerne. These events aim to raise additional funds and awareness for breast cancer research and support.

Community walks and cultural events planned

A solidarity walk will occur on Saturday, October 24, at 2 p.m., followed by a dance floor evening starting at 5 p.m., also at the Cazerne. These events are designed to bring the community together while promoting the cause.

Pink October concludes with film screening

A film screening and debate around the movie Coutures will conclude Pink October in Pont-Saint-Esprit on Wednesday, October 28, at Ciné 102. This event will highlight the themes of the film and continue the conversation around breast cancer awareness.
