Preorders for God of War: Laufey will begin on September 29 at 10 a.m. (French time), as confirmed by several news sources. The game is scheduled to launch on February 16, 2027, and will be available in both physical and digital formats. Unlike previous games in the God of War series, which sometimes included collector's editions, this title will not offer such a version. The physical edition will contain only the game itself, while the digital Deluxe edition will include extra content like the "Obsidian Alchemy" set (armor, sword, bow, and catalyst), a resource pack, a mini digital artbook, and the official digital soundtrack. Preorder bonuses will include the "Last Will" armor set, the "Golden Leaves" appearance for Phranque (a character in the game), and a game resource pack. The digital Deluxe edition will also include the "Obsidian Alchemy" set, a resource pack, a mini digital artbook, and the official digital soundtrack. These additions aim to enhance the player's experience with additional visual and gameplay elements. New gameplay details reveal that Faye, Kratos's wife, will wield a "serpent bow," a unique weapon that transforms into a serpent and can be used for both ranged and melee combat. The bow will have two aiming modes: "Precision - Full Aim," which allows for precise targeting and increased range, and "Hip Shooting," which enables rapid fire at close range. Players will also be able to customize the serpent bow with different scales, which will affect both its appearance and gameplay style. Additional gameplay features include the ability to use various types of arrows, such as fast fire, explosive detonations, and multiple target arrows, to create openings in combat. Faye's customization options will also include armor, sword, scales, and catalysts—powerful artifacts that channel the magic of the Empyrean. The PlayStation Blog has also released new images and details about the game, including a new face-to-face between Faye and Kratos, as well as a new antagonist image. God of War: Laufey will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5.
