The Asian Games Cricket 2026 will take place from September 24 to October 3, with live broadcasts available in several countries. Free-to-air coverage will be provided in Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, China, and Malaysia. In the United States, Willow TV will air the event, and viewers without access to Willow TV can watch via Sling TV’s Desi Binge Plus or Dakshin Flex packages. In India, the Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV will cover the tournament. For viewers outside these regions, a virtual private network (VPN) is recommended to access the streams. India is the favorite to win the gold medal and has sent its strongest squad, led by captain Shreyas Iyer. Despite this, the team will also be playing a three-match One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies at the same time, which may affect their performance. Bangladesh is the only other team fielding a full-strength squad, with Litton Das as their captain. This will be the fourth edition of the Asian Games to include cricket, which first appeared in the 2010 edition. Afghanistan has won silver in the previous three tournaments, while Bangladesh has claimed one gold and two bronze medals. Sri Lanka and India each have one gold medal. India did not participate in the 2010 or 2024 editions, making their debut in 2022, where they were awarded gold after the final was abandoned due to weather. The group stage will begin on September 24, with six teams—Japan, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Oman, and Nepal—competing for four spots in the quarter-finals. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will automatically qualify for the quarter-finals based on their rankings in the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament will be held at Korogi Athletic Park in Nisshin, Aichi, Nagoya, which has shorter boundaries—about 65 meters on each side—likely leading to high-scoring matches. As the host nation, Japan will play Afghanistan in the opening match. Afghanistan will be cautious not to underestimate Japan, following Japan's strong performance in a T20 match against India in Kano, Santo, where Japan limited India to just 32 runs in five overs and nearly chased it down. If both India and Pakistan advance through their quarter-finals, they are expected to meet in the first semi-final on October 1.
