*Ken*a: Scars of Kosmora, the follow-up to the 2021 action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits, has been delayed until 2027, as announced by developer Ember Lab on the PlayStation Blog. The studio had not previously set a specific release date, and the delay was confirmed when the game did not appear at major industry events such as Gamescom 2026 or the recent PlayStation State of Play. The delay is intended to allow the team to create a game on a "much larger scale" than the first installment, with the goal of delivering a "game of quality that will surpass the first installment of 2021, Bridge of Spirits." The sequel will offer a more open-world experience than its predecessor, allowing players to explore the island of Kosmora, a setting described as rich in distinct cultures and marked by a tragic past. This island is central to Kena's journey as she seeks answers about a mysterious affliction affecting her and explores her role as a spirit guide. Players will be able to explore temples and dungeons, which will contain significant rewards to help them progress through the adventure. Kena will be accompanied by a crystalline canine spirit that functions as both a mount and an ally in solving alchemical puzzles. The gameplay will also evolve with the introduction of elemental spiritual companions, each tied to a specific element. These companions will gain strength and unlock new abilities throughout the adventure. The combat system will include more strategic elements through elemental infusions, as well as more challenging encounters, including battles against powerful bosses. The game will be released on PlayStation 5 in both digital and physical editions, while the PC version will only be available digitally. Although the delay has been confirmed, a specific release date for 2027 has not yet been announced.
