LG monitor discount available
LG's UltraGear 34GS95QE-W gaming monitor, featuring a 34-inch OLED panel, is currently available with a 20% discount on Amazon at 599.99 euros, down from 749 euros.GTA VI and gaming releases
The monitor is marketed as a preparation for the arrival of Rockstar Games' GTA VI on PC, although the exact release date for PC has not been announced. The console version of GTA VI is scheduled for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to release on October 23.Monitor specifications
The LG UltraGear 34GS95QE-W includes a 34-inch curved OLED screen with a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels in a 21:9 format, HDR peak brightness of 1,300 nits (though only on a small area of the screen), and compatibility with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync. The monitor supports up to 240 Hz for PC gaming via DisplayPort, while console players can achieve up to 120 Hz in 1440p via HDMI 2.1 ports.Design and usability
The monitor includes a white color option, which may be more prone to dust accumulation compared to black-framed screens. It offers adjustable height, tilt, and rotation for desk compatibility. The curved design may take up significant desk space. In terms of brightness, the monitor achieves 275 nits across the full screen, which may be insufficient in sunlit environments. An anti-reflective coating has been implemented to reduce glare from direct sunlight.Connectivity and features
The monitor is suitable for both PC and console players, with two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort for connectivity. It also includes a headphone jack and two speakers with a total power of 14 W, sufficient for gaming but not ideal for background music during social gatherings. The ability to handle two different inputs simultaneously is a practical feature for multitasking, such as playing on a console while viewing a YouTube video on a PC.Availability and affiliations
