The French biathlon teams have started their training camps in preparation for the upcoming World Cup season. The French team initially gathered at the headquarters of the French Ski Federation in Annecy before moving to Font-Romeu and Ramsau for a new phase of training. According to one report, the team will begin their Font-Romeu stage on Tuesday, marking the final phase of their summer preparation. Meanwhile, the French women's team has started their training camp in Ramsau, though they are unable to ski cross-country due to the lack of snow. Stéphane Bouthiaux, a representative of the French biathlon team, shared with Nordic Magazine the list of ten French athletes selected for the Loop One Festival 2026, which includes both established stars and new talent. However, the French team has not sent all its top biathletes to the festival. One report criticized this decision as "too random from a sports perspective, it does not make sense," while another described it similarly as "too random from a sporting point of view, it does not hold up." The final stages of the French team’s preparation include training stops at Font-Romeu or Ramsau in October, followed by sessions in Bessans or Geilo in November. The French women's team is currently training in Ramsau using wheel skiing, an alternative method for practicing cross-country skiing when natural snow is unavailable. The first photos of the French women’s team in training at Ramsau have also been released, offering a glimpse into their preparations. Other recent developments include the American selection events planned for this weekend at Soldier Hollow, which will feature two sprints to determine qualifiers. There is also mention of ten French athletes who had previously won globes in the Junior Cup before the event was canceled. These athletes include Lou Jeanmonnot, Martin Perrillat-Bottonet, Myrtille Bègue, Anaëllle Bondoux, and Jeanne Richard. Oscar Lombardot opted to participate in the Summer Tour d'Arçon at home instead of attending the Loop One Festival, citing a desire to "make real race distances." The program for Nordic skiing on Saturday, October 10, has also been announced.
