Xbox is reportedly preparing to introduce its own version of PlayStation's platinum trophies, called "Mythic achievements." This new feature was discovered in a recent update to the Xbox PC app. According to data embedded in the app, Mythic achievements will be unlocked when a player completes all the achievements in a particular game. These special achievements will be highlighted on screen with a unique unlock sound, offering a distinct celebration for completing a game's full set of accomplishments. Players will be able to track their Mythic achievements through the Xbox dashboard, a central hub for managing game progress and achievements. Additionally, Xbox users will be able to showcase their total number of Mythic achievements on their personal profiles, allowing them to share their gaming milestones with friends and the broader Xbox community. This feature adds a new layer of recognition for completing games in their entirety, similar to how PlayStation's platinum trophies are used. Early versions of the Xbox dashboard have already begun showing references to Mythic achievements, according to some Xbox Insider testers. These testers are part of a program that gives Microsoft users early access to new features and updates. The presence of these references suggests that the feature is still in development and may be rolled out in the near future. The update for the Xbox PC app, which includes these changes, is just one part of a broader effort to enhance the achievements system on Xbox. The introduction of Mythic achievements could mark a significant shift in how Xbox recognizes player accomplishments. While the feature has not been officially announced by Microsoft, the growing evidence suggests it is on the horizon. For now, players can look forward to potentially tracking their progress in a new and exciting way, with more details expected to emerge as the feature develops.
