Woman discovers dog guarding a transport bag
A woman walking her dog noticed another dog guarding a transport bag and realized the dog was protecting a cat inside the bag. Dog was in poor health
The dog, named Angel, was directly attached to the transport bag and was found in a poor health condition, with long claws, areas of fur without hair, a troubled look, fleas, and a mass in the abdominal area. Cat was in better condition
The cat inside the bag had no electronic chip but was in better health. Rescuers from the RSPCA Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Branch shelter intervened. Angel’s chip provided her name
Angel's electronic chip provided her name but no other information. The rescuers noted that Angel and the cat had no access to water or food and were exposed to dangers. Rescuers are seeking the responsible person
Angel is currently receiving antibiotics and is scheduled for an operation to remove the mass in her abdomen. The RSPCA is searching for the person responsible for abandoning the animals. Animals will be ready for new homes soon
Once Angel and the cat are healthy, they will be able to join their future families.
