Canal+ launches new series Singapura

Canal+ subscribers will be able to watch the new six-episode series Singapura starting Monday, November 2, 2026, at 9 p.m. The show is an original creation based on the novel L’Expatriée by Elsa Marpeau, adapted for television by the same author.

Plot centers on a French woman in Singapore

The series follows Justine, a French woman who moves to Singapore to start fresh. There, she meets Élisa, a free-spirited local, and gets drawn into a murder mystery involving the tight-knit French expatriate community.

Filming locations included Thailand and France

The production team filmed in Thailand, particularly in Bangkok, for a month. They later spent three days in Singapore to capture specific scenes. Additional interior scenes were shot in the south of France, near Montpellier.

Challenges of filming in Singapore

Elsa Marpeau and Naïlia Harzoune, who attended a press conference at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival, described the difficulties of filming in Singapore. They noted that strict censorship laws would have made it nearly impossible to produce the series there, citing examples like restrictions on kissing scenes and smoking.

Episodes available for streaming

The first two episodes of Singapura are already available for streaming on Canal+ for subscribers. New episodes will be released every Monday, starting with the premiere on November 2.
