Boom’Structur, founded in 2013 by Sylvia Courty and Cyril Crépet, has recently been designated as the 16th Centre de Développement Chorégraphique National (CDCN), a label that recognizes institutions dedicated to advancing contemporary dance. This designation highlights the organization’s role in a network of centers that support artists and promote dance’s influence in local communities and public consciousness. Each CDCN operates with a unique identity and mission, tailored to its region, allowing Boom’Structur to continue its focus on long-term artistic research, independent of the pressures of immediate production. This recognition is particularly meaningful in today’s challenging economic climate for live performance, as three new CDCNs have been established in a short period, including Danse à tous les étages in Brittany, L’Alambik on Reunion Island, and now Boom’Structur. Boom’Structur is located in a region with a strong dance culture, including a conservatory with the largest dance department in France and the Amicale laïque, which provides dance classes to the public. The organization is launching its festival, On va tout fêter !, from September 28 to October 10, 2026, to fill a gap in the cultural life of Clermont-Ferrand. The festival aims to create a hub of artistic activity and public interest, offering a variety of performances that cater to different audiences, from young attendees to those interested in interdisciplinary works. The event will feature ten performances, with three taking place at Boom’Structur’s premises and the others in collaboration with other local venues. A highlight of the festival is Rendez-vous secrets, a 24-hour event scheduled for October 3 and 4, during which 50 artists will perform in unconventional locations throughout the city. The event will include 96 shows and sell over 3,000 tickets, offering a unique experience for attendees. Curated in partnership with the platform Lafitte, Rendez-vous secrets will present short 20-minute performances in non-traditional spaces, with the public selecting their preferred time and location based on keywords or mysterious phrases. This format invites a sense of exploration and discovery, aligning with the festival’s goal of engaging the public in new and dynamic ways.
