Cyclist plans long bikepacking trip in Asia

Cyclist Baptiste Veistroffer, known for competing in 86 days of racing in 2026, is preparing for a 2,500-kilometer bikepacking journey across Asia. This adventure will take place in Cambodia and Vietnam over about 21 days, marking his second such trip after a similar one in Thailand in 2025.

Veistroffer's extensive racing record

Veistroffer, who rides for the Lotto-Intermarché team, has raced more days this season than other top cyclists like Tadej Pogacar and Paul Seixas. His total racing days exceed those of his peers, highlighting his dedication to the sport.

Personal and professional commitment

The journey is not just a personal challenge but also a professional endeavor. Veistroffer has logged over 32,000 kilometers on Strava since January 1, showing his consistent training and commitment to cycling. This trip will also serve as physical preparation for the 2027 racing season.

Supporting a social initiative

The trip will support the MolemBIKE association, a Brussels-based organization that uses cycling to promote social cohesion. For every kilometer Veistroffer rides, his sponsors Ekoï and Lotto will donate €1, totaling €5,000 for the cause.

Personal motivation and joy

Veistroffer, who recently won the second stage of the Tour d'Oman, has emphasized the importance of personal expression and sharing joy with others. He stated that making people happy is what he enjoys most, reflecting his approach to both racing and his bikepacking adventures.
