Breathe in Travel, a tour operator, is planning a new way to showcase Croatia for the 2027 season. The company aims to move away from the typical tourist routes that highlight only the most famous attractions. Instead, it wants to offer a more personal and in-depth experience of the country. Quentin Billon, one of the co-founders, says that simply offering the same hotels, stops, and excursions as other operators would not be interesting. The goal is to create trips that reflect the company's unique identity. While popular destinations such as Dubrovnik, Split, and the Plitvice Lakes will still be part of some trips, Breathe in Travel plans to include them in more comprehensive itineraries. These itineraries will focus on regions and experiences that are often overlooked in traditional tourism. Areas like Istria, Kvarner, Opatija, the islands of Krk and Rab, and the Croatian hinterland will be emphasized. These regions offer historic villages, small coastal towns, vineyards, gastronomy, hiking, and outdoor activities. This approach allows for trips that go beyond the beach-focused image often associated with Croatia. To achieve this, Breathe in Travel has conducted extensive research in Croatia and Slovenia. The company is working directly with local partners to offer unique accommodations, such as small family-run structures, boutique hotels, and glamping options, often located away from the most popular tourist spots. This approach aligns with the company's core philosophy of building trips from the ground up, based on direct experience of the destinations. The team also focuses on local experiences, such as visits to producers, gastronomic events, and outdoor activities that add a more personal dimension to the trips. Breathe in Travel has a regional presence in the Balkans, with an office in Zagreb to manage operations in Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This setup allows the company to offer combined trips, such as Croatia and Slovenia or Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is especially appealing to travelers who have already visited Croatia and are looking to explore the region from a new perspective. For the 2027 season, Breathe in Travel will offer various formats, including self-driving tours, guided tours, customized individual trips, and group programs. The company also plans to expand its range of thematic trips focused on gastronomy, nature, outdoor activities, and cultural discovery. The goal remains to give partner agencies the flexibility to tailor the product to their clients' needs, rather than imposing a fixed itinerary. "We do not want to offer another Croatia," Billon says. "Our ambition is that the agencies working with us can find a different way to build their trips: addresses we have personally visited, partners we know, sometimes less programmed regions and above all a lot of flexibility. Croatia still has enormous possibilities as long as one accepts to get out of the most obvious itineraries." This new approach will be gradually introduced to Breathe in Travel partners for the 2027 season, with the aim of revealing a different side of Croatia that travelers might not yet know.
