On October 2, the LNB, which is the governing body for professional basketball in France, officially approved the ratification of two new contracts in the Betclic ÉLITE league. The administrative commission gave its approval to the files submitted by Élan Chalon and BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque, allowing the two clubs to field their medical staff starting this weekend. Jacob Grandison (1.98 m, 28 years old) and RJ Nembhard (1.95 m, 27 years old) have obtained the necessary administrative permits. Élan Chalon signed Jacob Grandison to compensate for the absence of Klark Riethauser, who is injured and will be out until the end of the calendar year. Grandison's contract is valid until December 30. He has completed his doping suspension and has already joined his new teammates for initial training sessions. The club confirmed his readiness for the upcoming matches. BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque signed RJ Nembhard to replace LJ Thorpe, who is injured and will be absent for a shorter period than Riethauser. Nembhard's contract is valid until November 8. He previously played in France in 2023 with Fos-sur-Mer. The approval from the LNB allows the coaching staffs of both clubs to integrate the new players into their game plans. Élan Chalon will field Grandison in their away game against Bourg-en-Bresse on Saturday at 8:30 pm. Gravelines-Dunkerque will welcome RJ Nembhard in their match against ASVE on Sunday at 4:30 pm. The LNB statement also mentioned two other qualifications in the Betclic ÉLITE league for young players. Élan Béarnais qualified its prospect Heyrold Nathan Assira Engoute (2.03 m, 17 years old) for a trainee contract until the end of the season. Ladji Konaté (2.04 m, 16 years old) will have an aspirant contract until the end of the season with SIG Strasbourg.
