The Anker Solix S2000 is a home backup battery system that can power essential devices during a power outage. It has a capacity of 2,010 watt-hours (Wh) and can deliver up to 1,500 watts of continuous power, with a peak of 3,000 watts for short bursts. The unit is currently on sale for $650, a significant drop from its original price of $1,199. This makes it a more affordable option for homeowners looking to prepare for power disruptions. Weighing just 35.7 pounds, the S2000 is more compact and lightweight than many other backup batteries with similar power ratings. This makes it easier to store in a home. It is designed to keep essential appliances like refrigerators, routers, and medical devices such as CPAP machines running during outages. The battery is built to last, with a rating for 10,000 charge cycles and a stated lifespan of 15 years. It also includes an OptiSave feature that reduces idle power consumption to about 6 watts, helping to conserve energy when not in use. The S2000 ensures minimal disruption during power outages with a 10-millisecond switchover time, which means devices will experience almost no interruption when the system switches from grid power to battery power. It offers 1,500 watts of continuous power across five AC outlets, suitable for most household devices. The SurgePad feature allows for short bursts of up to 2,600 watts for compatible appliances, though the unit's continuous output is lower than some of its higher-wattage competitors. It also cannot be expanded with additional battery packs, which may limit its use for larger power needs. Other models in the Anker Solix lineup include the C1000 Gen 2, which has a 1,024Wh capacity and 2,000W continuous output, and the Jackery Explorer 1000 V2, which offers 1,070Wh of capacity and 1,500W of continuous power. The S2000 is currently available at a discount of around 46% off its MSRP, with a price of $649.99. While this is a notable reduction, it is not a record-low price but still considered a solid deal for those in the market for a reliable home backup system.
