A remake of Dragon Ball Super Beerus is set to debut in October 2026, with the first episode airing in Japan on October 11, 2026. This new version of the anime will also be broadcast in France, where the MANGAS channel has announced it will begin airing the series starting October 13, 2026, with a slight delay from the Japanese broadcast. In France, episodes will be shown every Tuesday at 11:00 PM in a French-dubbed version, known as VOSTFR.
The remake will cover the first three arcs of Dragon Ball Super, including the Beerus arc, the God of Destruction arc, the resurrection of Freezer arc, and the Universe 6 arc. The original arcs were composed of nearly 46 episodes, but the remake will have 19 episodes, aiming for a more dynamic and concentrated narrative. This shorter format will allow the story to be told more efficiently while maintaining the core elements of the original.
The production will undergo a complete overhaul, with visuals inspired by recent feature films such as Dragon Ball Super Broly. New original sequences are also expected due to the condensed format. These changes aim to modernize the series and provide a fresh experience for both long-time fans and newcomers.
In addition to the remake, Dragon Ball Super will continue with the Galactic Patrol arc, announced in January 2026 during the 40th anniversary event of the franchise. This new arc will follow Goku and Vegeta as they ally with the Galactic Patrol to face Moro, the planet eater. The Galactic Patrol arc directly follows the end of the Universe Survival arc, whose animated adaptation concluded in 2018. This continuation is the first to be released since the death of Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, in 2024.
