French ski events open registration

Two major French cross-country skiing events, the Foulée Blanche and the Trans'Vercors Nordic, will begin accepting registrations on Sunday, November 1st. The Foulée Blanche, a long-standing event, will take place in January 2027, while the Trans'Vercors Nordic is scheduled for February 2027.

Foulée Blanche details

The Foulée Blanche is entering its 49th edition and will run from January 27 to 31, 2027, in Autrans-Méaudre, located in the Vercors region of Isère. This event has historically attracted a wide range of participants, from young students to seasoned skiers.

Youth participation focus

The Foulée Blanche will dedicate Wednesday and Thursday of its event week to young participants, including students from primary, middle, and high schools. This focus on youth aims to promote cross-country skiing among younger generations.

Race options and dates

On Sunday, January 31, the main race will take place, offering four distances: 5, 10, 21, and 42 kilometers. Registration for this event will open on the Foulée Blanche’s official website at 10 a.m. on November 1st.

Trans'Vercors Nordic overview

The Trans'Vercors Nordic, created in 1968, will occur on Sunday, February 7, 2027. The race will traverse the Vercors massif, covering approximately 50 kilometers from Saint-Agnan-en-Vercors to Villard-de-Lans.

Route and environmental considerations

The route will mainly follow the undammed wild areas of the Hauts-Plateaux of the Vercors, a nature reserve. The track will be temporarily prepared for the event and then removed afterward to maintain the area’s natural tranquility.

Race formats and styles

Participants in the Trans'Vercors Nordic can choose between a timed race in pairs or a non-timed individual hike. They can also select between classic skiing style or skating. Registration for this event will open on the Sports'n Connect platform on November 1st.
