Renault sold 6% fewer vehicles in Q3 2026 but revenue rose 1.5%, driven by electric and hybrid sales and financing gains.
Renault sells fewer cars but earns more
Renault Group sold 6% fewer vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, but its revenue increased by 1.5%, reaching 11.6 billion euros. The growth of electric and hybrid powertrains, the composition of sales, and financing revenues explain this resilience.Vehicle deliveries drop globally
Between July and September, the manufacturer delivered 497,799 vehicles worldwide, a 6% decrease compared to the same period a year earlier. However, its consolidated revenues reached 11.596 billion euros, an increase of 1.5%.Electric vehicles drive European growth
In Europe, Renault Group's sales of fully electric passenger cars increased by 84.7% in the third quarter. They now represent 25.8% of the group's passenger car sales in this region, an increase of 12.2 percentage points compared to a year earlier.Electrification and hybrid models boost revenue
The manufacturer indicates that electric versions equipped with larger capacity batteries and hybrid models have improved the composition of its sales. This effect of product range contributes to supporting revenue, even when volumes decline. However, it does not alone determine the margin per vehicle.Financing services contribute to revenue
The resilience of the accounts does not come solely from powertrains. Mobilize Financial Services, which finances purchases and leases of vehicles, recorded 1.761 billion euros in revenue, an increase of 11%. Renault attributes this growth to the rise in interest rates and an increase in its financing portfolio.Dacia's sales decline but new models on the way
Dacia delivered 144,175 vehicles in the third quarter, a 12.8% decrease. Renault Group highlights the renewal of its range and a high base of comparison in 2025. The brand is also preparing the first deliveries of the hybrid Sandero, the new Spring, and the Striker.Year-to-date performance shows revenue growth
Over nine months, Renault Group's global sales declined by 2.2%, to 1.662 million vehicles, while its cumulative revenue increased by 7.1%, to 41.8 billion euros. The manufacturer maintains its 2026 target for an operating margin of around 5.5% and a cash flow from Automotive close to one billion euros.
