PSG Handball wins by a narrow margin

The PSG Handball team, already qualified for the next stage, secured a narrow victory against the Croatian HC Zagreb team with a final score of 29-28. Veszprém, Bucarest, and Porto also secured victories in their respective matches.

Early dominance by PSG

The most difficult part of the match had already been addressed in the first encounter, with PSG leading 34-30. In an apathetic Zagreb Arena, the Parisians completed their task against a determined but overly inaccurate Croatian team.

Strong first half for PSG

Starting strongly and supported by their wingers, the PSG team gradually accelerated in the latter part of the first half, taking a four-goal lead at halftime (13-17, 30'). Led by their wingers Bjarki Mar Elisson and Ferran Solé, the team coached by Stefan Madsen progressed steadily in the second half, without truly shining or demonstrating a clear superiority.

Zagreb makes a comeback

Nevertheless, where one might have expected a match without significant difficulty, Paris gradually lost momentum. The local team did not give up and came back into the game. Filip Glavas scored to equalize the score, and from there, everything collapsed. The arena became excited, the audience stood up, and cheered their champions. Taking advantage of the momentum in their favor, Zagreb pushed forward and regained the lead in the final moments of the match. Paris lost by a single goal (29-28, final score).

Veszprém and Berlin show resilience

Veszprém secured a surprising victory, while Aarhus was defeated by Bucarest. In other matches of the evening, Füsche Berlin narrowly avoided a heavy defeat. The Germans were in a very difficult position and were significantly behind at halftime (20-13, 30'). However, they recovered in the second half.

Close matches and strong performances

Supported by their backline and the good performance of Aymeric Zaepfel (4/6), the team managed to avoid a loss, but only narrowly avoided defeat against the teammates of Emil Nielsen. Only four goals separated the two teams (39-35, final score), with the visitors making a significant comeback. The Danish team from Aarhus could do nothing against the Romanian team from Dinamo Bucarest (37-23, final score). Finally, Porto and Partizan Belgrade drew the match with a score of parity (33-33, final score).
