Paddy Pimblett, a professional mixed martial artist, has stated he wants to settle a personal and professional rivalry with Ilia Topuria over a six-week period. Pimblett recently returned to winning form in June, defeating Benoît Saint-Denis via strangulation in under a minute during the co-main event of UFC 329, which helped him re-enter the race for the lightweight division title. Despite his recent win, Pimblett is still ranked behind Arman Tsarukyan, who holds the number one spot in the lightweight division after defeating Mauricio Ruffy in a recent bout. Pimblett is now focusing on a potential high-stakes fight with Topuria, who is set to return in February. Pimblett has expressed a desire to face Topuria on The Ultimate Fighter, a reality television show that trains and pits aspiring fighters against each other, and has predicted a psychological battle similar to the one between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo. Pimblett has also criticized Topuria for accusing Justin Gaethje of using an illegal substance during their fight at UFC Freedom 250. He is actively pushing for a fight with Topuria, even suggesting he wants to face him as an opposing coach on The Ultimate Fighter. In an interview with Kolos MMA, Pimblett said, "I would beat him so severely that I would send him back to the featherweight division," and added that a season of The Ultimate Fighter with both of them as coaches would be entertaining, as it would make Topuria angry enough to ensure Pimblett's victory. Dana White, the president of the UFC, believes a fight between Pimblett and Topuria would be appealing enough to serve as the main event of a major UFC card, similar to McGregor's high-profile fights against Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, and Donald Cerrone. Over the 34 seasons of The Ultimate Fighter, the show has produced several memorable rivalries between coaches. One of the most famous was between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate, which culminated in a fight at UFC 168. Another notable rivalry was between Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen, which is remembered as one of the most intense in the show's history.
