An upskirting website that targeted hundreds of women and girls in London has been taken down after an investigation. The site was reported to contain 400 videos of victims, many of whom appeared to be underage, filmed as they walked through areas like Westfield shopping centre and London Underground stations. In most cases, the victims were wearing shorts or leggings, making the act of upskirting—filming someone's genital area without consent—particularly invasive and distressing. The website was publicly accessible, offering around 50 videos for free preview before requiring a $50 payment via PayPal to view the rest. Although the site has now been privatized, users are met with either a "Page Not Found" message or a prompt to enter an administrator's or subscriber's password. Experts suggest that the site may have been geo-blocked for users in the UK or relocated to a different server. Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator, has confirmed that they did not take the site down. Metro has reached out to the Metropolitan Police for a response, but no official statement has been released yet. The Mayor of London has condemned upskirting as "appalling, illegal, and predatory behaviour" that has no place in the city. A spokesperson welcomed the investigation by Metro, emphasizing that all perpetrators should face the full force of the law. The issue has sparked renewed concern about the prevalence of such crimes and the need for stronger enforcement and awareness. One of the victims, Eranta Ntatsi, 29, was filmed while walking in Wood Green’s High Road. She described the experience as feeling "like being raped in the moment." A mother of two, she told Metro she had no idea the video existed until a man, who follows her husband’s social media accounts, recognized her. He sent the footage to her husband, and Eranta now feels "completely violated and abused." The incident occurred three years ago when she was collecting maternity payments from Halifax. She said she never noticed she was being filmed, and the discovery of the video came as a shock. "I hate that I am just pushing my baby in a pram and someone is having sexual thoughts," she said.
