ITV has announced a new spin-off of the popular reality TV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, titled I’m A Celebrity… The Wild Frontier. Set to debut in 2027, the show will take place in the Canadian wilderness, marking a shift from the traditional Australian setting. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, the show’s long-time hosts, will return to lead the series. A key new element is the requirement for celebrities to compete in pairs, which McPartlin described as featuring "lots of twists and surprises," while Donnelly emphasized that the show will retain familiar elements from the Australian version. A preview trailer shows the hosts standing in front of a mountainous forest backdrop before revealing the location as Canada. Celebrities will be paired with relatives, loved ones, or fellow celebrities, with combinations including two stars, a celebrity and a family member, or a celebrity and a best friend. These duos will live, eat, and take on challenges together, with both members being eliminated as a single unit. Viewers will watch as the pairs face gruelling trials in Canada’s rugged landscape, aiming to win food and ultimately become the last pair standing. The winner will be decided by viewer votes in a live grand final broadcast from London. ITV’s director of entertainment, reality, and daytime, Katie Rawcliffe, said the new format will take the duos to some of Canada’s most spectacular locations, where they will "enter, play and leave" as a pair. The show promises to be a fresh and exciting experience for audiences in 2027, with new gameplay and the unique dynamics of living and competing with a spouse, best friend, or sibling. Im A Celebrity… Unpacked, a companion show that offers behind-the-scenes insights, will return to ITV2 and air immediately after each main episode on ITV1. The original I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been on air since 2002, with notable winners including Kerry Katona, Matt Willis, Stacey Solomon, and others. The show has typically been held in Australia, except for two years during the pandemic when it moved to Gwrych Castle in Wales.
