Razer reintroduces Basilisk mouse

Razer has brought back its Basilisk mouse line with the release of the Basilisk V4 Pro, ending a three-year absence. The mouse keeps the same shape as earlier models but includes new technology and features.

New sensor and connectivity

The Basilisk V4 Pro uses the Razer Focus Pro 50K optical sensor and HyperSpeed Gen-2 wireless connectivity. It weighs 100 g, lighter than the previous V3 Pro model, which weighed 112 g.

Design and versatility

The mouse is designed for both gaming and office use, filling the gap between Razer's lightweight models and the Naga V3 Pro. It has a textured rubber coating for better grip and a matte finish that may show marks over time.

Button layout and scroll wheel

The Basilisk V4 Pro has four buttons on the left side, with the first row offering standard back and forward functions. The farthest button opens the Razer AI Prompt Master chatbot if the Razer Synapse app is installed.

Scroll wheel and glide pads

The mouse includes the Razer HyperScroll Gen-2 optical scroll wheel, which can be disengaged or set to 24 or 48 levels. The underside has five glide pads, with a larger one on the thumb rest.

Connectivity and battery life

The mouse supports wireless charging and comes with a compatible charging plate. It offers wireless connectivity via a dongle (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth 6.2, and a wired USB-C connection. Razer claims 200 hours of battery life with 2.4 GHz and 275 hours with Bluetooth.

New gaming feature

The Basilisk V4 Pro includes a feature called Perfect 180, which allows for an immediate 180° turn in first-person shooter games. This requires the Razer Synapse software to assign commands and set DPI levels.

Price and availability

The Basilisk V4 Pro is priced at 180 euros, all taxes included, and is available for purchase.
