Mercedes GLC electric demand exceeds expectations

The fully electric version of Mercedes' GLC has surpassed expectations, with order books for the end of 2026 already full. Production is now being planned for 2027, with some deliveries postponed to next year.

Mercedes adapts production to meet growing demand

The German SUV is currently available in three versions, starting from 64,900 euros. An upcoming entry-level version, expected in the coming months, could further increase demand.

Electric models gain traction in Europe

Available for order on most European markets for about a year, the new Mercedes GLC electric model is already full for 2026. New orders will now be processed in 2027. Demand for electric models has increased by 60% at Mercedes in Europe, with one out of three new Mercedes vehicles being 100% electric.

Production changes to meet demand

Mercedes has adapted its production to meet growing demand, with three teams taking turns, six days a week, to manufacture batteries. The success of the GLC EQ is not limited to this model, as the CLA EQ also records many orders. The new GLA EQ, which arrived more recently, is expected to be a hit as well.

New affordable GLC EQ version expected

Mercedes could see demand intensify further in the coming months with the arrival of a more affordable version of the GLC EQ. Expected under the name GLC 200 EQ, this version would feature a 64 kWh LFP battery, allowing a WLTP range of 490 kilometers.

Entry price may drop for new version

Currently listed from 64,900 euros (GLC 250 EQ), the model could soon see its entry price approach 60,000 euros or even go below that. By becoming more accessible, the electric Mercedes GLC should logically attract even more customers, with factories continuing to run at full capacity for a long time.
