Ad hoc Editions has announced a series of new releases and publications planned for 2026 and 2027. One of the highlights is a complete edition of the work of Jess Long, an FBI agent supported by Slim Sullivan. This edition will be released in five volumes, covering the 21 albums exhaustively and in chronological order. Each volume will be accompanied by an introductory dossier that includes reproductions of the covers of the journal Spirou, biographies of the authors, and other documents. The third volume, Jess Long, complete edition T.3, will be 240 pages and priced at 45 euros. It is scheduled to be available in September 2026.
Another release in 2026 is L’Inconnu de la villa mystère, which is part of the remarkable collection Vint’pages. This edition offers a facsimile of the original pages, preserving their appearance as they were first created. Originally published in Spirou in 1956, the story is part of the adventure series La Patrouille des castors. The series follows a group of five boy scouts who have adventures filled with mysteries, riddles, friendship, courage, and mutual support. Although the 30 albums of La Patrouille des castors were published by Hachette in 2014, the quality of Ad hoc Editions' edition is highly regarded. L’inconnu de la villa mystère will be 64 pages, in a format of 340*270 mm, priced at 45 euros, and will be available in September 2026.
The 2026 release also includes a special offering for fans of René Follet, a renowned Belgian illustrator. The epic Caravane 1958-1964 gathers all the illustrations of Follet published in the 35 issues of the booklet Caravane, a color supplement to the bimonthly Vivant Afrique. René Follet (1931-2020), though not widely known to the general public, was a highly skilled drawer, perhaps even exceptional. He worked with other notable artists and illustrated novels by Henri Verne (known as Bob Morane) and J. Flanders, also known as J. Ray (Edmund Bell). In 2003, the Belgian Chamber of Comics Experts awarded him the Grand Prix du Dessin for his work Terreur.
Looking ahead to 2027, the publisher plans to release a new album by Natacha, as part of the VINT’PAGE collection. The collection will soon welcome a new volume dedicated to Bob Morane, featuring the story L’Épée du Paladin, imagined by Henri Vernes and drawn by Gérald Forton. The publisher is currently seeking a scan of the cover drawing. More information can be found on the Ad hoc Editions website.
