Gigabyte has unveiled the Aorus Master 16, a high-end gaming laptop aimed at serious gamers and professionals. The device features a 16-inch OLED screen with a 240 Hz refresh rate, which means it can display 240 distinct images per second for smoother motion. The screen has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, providing sharp and detailed visuals. It supports Dolby Vision, a technology that enhances color and contrast, and offers deep blacks and infinite contrast, making it ideal for both gaming and media consumption. The laptop is currently available at Boulanger for 2,599.99 euros, a discount from its original price of 2,999.99 euros. The Aorus Master 16 comes with a futuristic keyboard design, featuring RGB lighting and a layout that highlights the most-used keys for gamers. The keyboard’s design blends practicality with style, offering both comfort and visual appeal. Despite its advanced features, the laptop is not particularly lightweight or thin. It weighs 2.3 kg and has a thickness between 1.9 and 2.55 cm, which makes it more of a performance-oriented device than a portable one. In terms of connectivity, the Aorus Master 16 offers a wide range of ports and features. It includes two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, one USB-C port compatible with USB 4, an HDMI 2.1 port, an Ethernet port, a microSD UHS-II card reader, and a 3.5 mm jack for headphones. The laptop also supports Wi-Fi 7, the latest wireless standard offering faster speeds and lower latency, as well as Bluetooth 5.4 for connecting peripherals. It has four speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos, a surround sound technology that creates a more immersive audio experience. Under the hood, the Aorus Master 16 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores that can reach up to 5.3 GHz in Turbo mode. It also includes 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, which can be upgraded to 64 GB, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. This graphics card supports DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation (MFG), technologies that use AI to generate additional frames and enhance gaming performance. The system includes a 1 TB SSD, which provides faster game loading and data access. However, the high-performance components consume a lot of power, resulting in limited battery life and the need for frequent recharging.
