The second season of Apollo Has Fallen, a French-British television series inspired by the Gerard Butler film trilogy, began airing on Canal+ on September 14, 2026. Known for its film-like production values and engaging storytelling, the show follows British actress Ritu Arya as Zara Taylor, an MI6 intelligence officer, and French actor Tewfik Jallab as Vincent Taleb, a former French defense minister’s bodyguard. In this season, the pair is thrust into a high-stakes mission to stop a deadly virus threatening Europe, taking them on a journey through locations such as London, Madrid, and Libya. The series is packed with intense action sequences, including a standout fight scene in a hotel corridor that involved liquid gel. This scene left Tewfik Jallab with burns, underscoring the physical toll of the production. Ritu Arya spoke about a particularly challenging scene—a fast-paced chase through London’s Chinatown in a supermarket—which she described as both memorable and difficult to film. Meanwhile, the cast is currently working on the third season, titled Shadow Has Fallen, which promises to be just as demanding, with extensive training and complex stunt coordination required. Character development is a key focus of the series, with Zara and Vincent’s relationship evolving into a deep friendship built on trust and shared vulnerability. Tewfik Jallab emphasized that Vincent’s French identity remains central to the character, even as the story spans international settings. He noted that Vincent’s French accent and sense of humor are key aspects of his portrayal, helping to ground the character in his cultural background despite the global scope of the plot. Directed by Howard Overman, the second season expands on the virus threat introduced in the first season, taking the story beyond France and into a more global context. Critics have praised the series for its cinematic quality, strong character focus, and the way it blends high-octane action with deeper narrative themes. With its mix of thrilling sequences and emotional depth, Apollo Has Fallen continues to be a standout in international television.
