HBO Max is set to expand its content library with a variety of new films, series, and documentaries in October 2026. One of the highlights is the horror series Crystal Lake, a prequel to the long-running Friday the 13th franchise. The series centers on Pam Voorhees, a grieving mother who lost her son Jason to a tragic drowning in the town's lake. When two strangers begin investigating her past, a series of unsettling events ensues, causing the residents of Crystal Lake to confront their own fears and secrets. The series, starring Linda Cardellini, will be available on October 15. Among the new films, Destination finale: Bloodlines is scheduled for release on October 14. This film follows Stefanie, a university student tormented by a recurring nightmare, who returns home to discover the only person who can break a dark cycle and save her loved ones from a shared fate. The film is described as a fresh take on its original gore-heavy and whimsical concept, linking it to a story of an intergenerational curse. Other additions to HBO Max’s lineup include a range of series and films across various genres and languages. These include War (October 2), Les cauchemars de Junji Ito (October 2), Tourments (October 2), Get Jiro! (October 4), Adventure Time: Side quests (October 5), Kill Jackie (October 8), Furia (October 9), Courage, the chien froussard (October 16), Yaga (October 23), and Grizzy et les Lemmings (October 23), among others. New films will also be available, including Carrie, la vengeance (October 1), Get Out (October 2), Amants (October 3), Le Challenge (October 3), Eyes Wide Shut (October 4), Van Helsing (October 8), and several installments of the Destination finale series.
