The European Cup of Summoners War World Arena Championship 2026 (SWC2026), organized by the South Korean game company Com2uS, took place on September 26, 2026, in Hamburg, Germany. The event was held at the Xperion complex and featured eight top players competing in a single-elimination format. The tournament drew a large audience, with the French player known as Malignant emerging as the champion after winning the player versus player (PvP) mode. This marked Malignant's first European title and came with a prize of $10,000. The second-place finisher was OBABO, a well-known figure in the esports community, who earned $5,000. P4FFIX claimed third place with $2,500, the same amount given to the fourth-place finisher. The top three players will now qualify for the world final, which is set to take place in Seoul. Malignant had previously reached third place in the French qualifiers for the Summoners War World Arena Championship 2025 (SWC2025), but this year's victory marked a significant breakthrough. In an interview following the win, Malignant expressed his surprise and disbelief at being crowned European champion. He mentioned that he had prepared primarily for a match against Raxxaz, focusing on strategy with friends. Malignant also noted the electric atmosphere in Hamburg, where he could hear the crowd cheering through his headset at times. He plans to celebrate with a meal with his girlfriend before turning his attention to the world final in Seoul. The Summoners War esports season continues with the Americas Cup scheduled for October 10, 2026, in Toronto, followed by the Asia-Pacific Cup on October 17 in Bangkok. The global championship is set for November 14 in Seoul, with a prize pool of $100,000 for the world champion. Malignant now joins other top players from around the world, including Chinese players TARS and KANGJING, who qualified in Xi'an, and the South Korean player SKIT, in the race for the ultimate title. The competition is expected to draw even larger audiences as the world final approaches.
