Jonathan Doidge, a racing correspondent for The Independent, has provided four selections for the racing events taking place on Friday at Newmarket’s Rowley Course. This is the second day of the Cambridgeshire Meeting, a major racing event at the venue. The selections cover four races, each with different levels of competition and betting opportunities. In the Betway British EBF Rosemary Stakes (Listed Race) at 13:15, Doidge highlights Lizzana, a filly trained by Marco Botti. While the race is not considered one of the strongest of the season, Lizzana has shown strong form in Italy, finishing second in a Group 3 race and third in a Group 2 event. She has also won two novice races in Britain, and her recent performance suggests she could be a strong contender at 16/1. Doidge recommends taking an each-way bet on her. The Princess Royal Stakes (Group 3) at 13:50 features Inis Mor, who is currently the strongest contender based on her form. However, Doidge also points out Without Prejudice, a filly trained by the Gosdens. Despite being relatively unexposed, she has shown promise, winning at Newmarket and Windsor with ease. Doidge believes she has each-way potential at 7/1. In the Betway Rockfel Stakes (Group 2) at 14:25, Light Of Dawn is highlighted as a strong contender. She comes from a successful family and has won in Group 3 races, including at Glorious Goodwood. Her form in the Prestige Stakes is considered a key indicator for this race, and she is priced at 4/1. Doidge suggests a win bet on her. The final selection is for the Betway Joel Stakes (Group 2) at 15:00. Talk Of New York is the favorite, having performed well in recent races. However, Doidge recommends Persica as an each-way alternative. She has won several Group 3 races and is versatile on different ground types. If the favorite has an off day, Persica could capitalize, and she is priced at 13/2.
