A new Corsican association, Liami, launched to connect entrepreneurs with investors for shared growth and mentorship.
Liami association launched in Ajaccio
The Liami association officially launched on October 22 at the Cité Grossetti in Ajaccio, Corsica. It was founded in August with the goal of connecting entrepreneurs and private investors to boost economic development on the island.Focus on mentorship and financial support
The initiative aims to combine the experience of entrepreneurs with financial backing from investors. Investors are expected to mentor project holders and offer expertise beyond just monetary investment.Leaders highlight the value of shared experience
Paola Fabiani, founder of Vado Via and vice-president of the national Medef, co-leads the association. She emphasized the importance of reducing entrepreneurs' isolation by drawing on the experience of those who have faced similar challenges. Linda Gendre, general secretary of Liami, added that professionals can share skills and help manage business processes.Diverse profiles included in the network
Liami targets a range of profiles, including project holders, start-ups, growing SMEs, and companies preparing for succession. Entrepreneurs can submit their proposals directly or through an intermediary, and after an initial review, the projects are presented to investors who can then decide whether to invest.Liami’s role in the broader business ecosystem
The association aims to enhance the existing business support ecosystem in Corsica and expand its reach to include investors across the entire region. It focuses on supporting businesses at various stages of development without necessarily being involved in their long-term journey.
