The Neo Geo AES Plus, a new version of the classic Neo Geo AES gaming console from the 1990s, is set to launch on November 12. This updated console is designed to be fully compatible with the original game cartridges from its era, preserving the authentic gaming experience that fans remember. The release comes with a promotional offer from Cdiscount, allowing buyers to use the code COCORICO15 for a 16 euro discount. The standard model will be priced at 199.99 euros, while an anniversary edition, originally priced at 299.99 euros, will be available for 283.99 euros with the same discount. The Neo Geo AES Plus includes modern features such as an HDMI output for 1080p resolution compatibility, making it easier to connect to modern televisions. It also maintains the original console's design, with a 1:1 replica available in black or white, and comes with a stick-style controller. Additionally, an AV output is included, allowing users to connect to older cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions, a feature that appeals to fans seeking a nostalgic experience. Inside, the console has been redesigned by SNK and Plaion, with the original ASIC chips preserved to ensure compatibility with original cartridges without the need for emulation. The new console aims to attract both older fans and new players by incorporating modern technology while keeping the retro feel. With the launch, approximately twenty classic games will be re-released, including Metal Slug, which will be included in a more expensive bundle.
