Elections loom in Israel

Israeli legislative elections are approaching, and many Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are hoping that the new government formed from the election will be more favorable to their interests.

Settler outposts expand

Since the current far-right government took power in December 2022, 231 new Israeli settler outposts have been established in the West Bank, according to the Israeli organization Peace Now.

Settler violence rises

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), attacks by settlers that have caused casualties or material damage have increased from an average of 1.5 per day in 2021 to 6.7 in the first eight months of 2026.

Long-term impact on Palestinians

Many Palestinians bear the consequences of this violence for life, facing physical harm, property damage, and long-term displacement.

Limited support systems

Faced with an economically weakened Palestinian authority and an Israeli justice system that is not favorable to them, Palestinians find themselves alone and disadvantaged in seeking redress for the harm they have suffered.
