Shirley Ballas, 66, a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, has been seen spending time with Giuseppe Nonnis, a 36-year-old Italian dancer, leading to speculation about a possible romantic relationship. The pair was spotted enjoying a date in the park, with Giuseppe leaning in close as they shared coffee, and later cuddling on a bench. They have also been seen attending Mamma Mia! The Party together, a musical event based on the Mamma Mia! film franchise. Giuseppe's ex-fiancée, Dasha Chesnokova, 38, has publicly asked Ballas not to pursue a relationship with him, calling it "the ultimate betrayal." She mentioned that Ballas was her mentor for nearly two decades and that she introduced her to Giuseppe. Dasha compared the situation to "your mum taking your boyfriend" and said she would feel hurt if Ballas and Giuseppe were together. Giuseppe and Dasha began dancing together in 2021, competing in Blackpool before going on a world tour. They were engaged for four years before splitting in September 2025. Giuseppe's mother, Franca, 56, told the Daily Mail she was surprised by the rumors of his new relationship, stating that Giuseppe was still heartbroken from his split with Dasha and that he was merely a student of Ballas. She suggested their relationship might be purely platonic. Shirley has been single since her split from fiancé Danny Taylor in 2024. She explained the breakup was because they "weren't growing together anymore" and that she needed "some peace." Before Taylor, she was married to ballroom professional Sammy Stopford from 1980 to 1984 and to Corky Ballas from 1985 to 2007. She has one child, Mark Ballas, who is a professional dancer on the USA version of Strictly. Shirley and Giuseppe danced together during the We've Danced Through The Century lectures at the Blackpool Dance Festival in May 2026 and at the Dorin & Marina Hong Kong The Camp Cha Cha Lecture in July 2026. Giuseppe expressed gratitude for partnering with Ballas, calling it a "huge honour," while Ballas thanked him for being a "lovely" dance partner.
