GTA 6, the highly anticipated installment in the Grand Theft Auto series, is set to launch on November 19 after receiving an 18+ rating from PEGI and an M rating from ESRB, indicating it is suitable for mature audiences. The game features two main characters, Jason and Lucia, who have undergone substantial visual refinement since their first appearance in a 2023 trailer. That initial preview showcased impressive lighting effects and vibrant colors, with characters displayed in near-realistic detail. However, some aspects were not fully developed, such as Lucia's skin, which appeared less textured and her hair, which lacked animation. Jason, who made only a brief appearance, looked like an average white man with a shaved head and a three-day beard. A year and a half later, a second trailer revealed a significant leap in graphical fidelity. Lucia's character model was more detailed, featuring wavy hair and a golden dress, while Jason's brown hair spilled out of his hat, and his skin glistened with sweat. The trailer also showed more natural features, such as visible veins on Jason's arms and a more realistic beard with individual hairs. These enhancements demonstrate Rockstar Games' effort to create more lifelike human characters. The lighting effects were also more natural, reflecting the game's commitment to realism and providing players with greater customization options. In a recent large gameplay preview, GTA 6 showed continued visual improvements, though not as dramatic as those seen between the first and second trailers. The customization options have expanded, and Jason and Lucia have reached their final level of detail. Rob Nelson, co-director of Rockstar North, explained that the first trailer served as a manifesto for the team, a target to follow and a reference point for the game's overall vision. To build anticipation, Rockstar is ramping up its marketing efforts with posters and billboards in major cities like Miami and New York.
