Call notification bug affects new Pixel model

Since the spring, Google's Pixel smartphones have experienced issues with call notifications, with reports surfacing in May about a bug that prevented certain models from vibrating when a call arrived in vibrate mode.

Missing calls without alerts

Beginning in July, other Pixel devices began missing calls without ringing or displaying any notification on the screen, leading users to potentially miss important calls without awareness. This issue raised concerns about the reliability of the phone’s communication features.

Newer model faces same problem

The issue has now affected the Pixel 11 Pro XL, the large-screen model of the 2026 range, which features a 6.7-inch OLED display and Google's in-house Tensor G6 chip. This suggests the problem persists even in newer hardware.

Bug reported on latest device

The American website Android Authority reported the bug on incoming calls for the Pixel 11 Pro XL. The device was released after initial reports on older models, indicating that Google may have launched the new model without fully resolving the issue.

Users advised to check logs

Users with the Pixel 11 Pro XL are advised to regularly check their call logs and voicemail to catch calls that the phone may not have signaled. Google has not yet provided further communication on the malfunction, which impacts a critical function of a high-end smartphone.
