Anker, a well-known name in consumer electronics, has launched the AeroClip 2, a new set of open-ear headphones designed for more than just sports. These headphones are intended for use in everyday situations like working in the office, traveling, and exercising. The AeroClip 2 aims to overcome common issues with open-ear designs, such as difficulty in hearing clearly during phone calls due to background noise. To improve call clarity and user comfort, the AeroClip 2 uses artificial intelligence (AI) and includes six sensors—four microphones and two voice capture units. This combination helps the headphones distinguish between the user's voice and surrounding noise, making calls clearer even in busy environments. The AI also supports features like real-time translation, voice transcription, and a "Whisper" mode for soft speech, adding to the headphones' versatility. The headphones use Anker's GoldenFit system, which includes a thinner C-Bridge frame covered with silicone to ensure comfort and a secure fit during long use. This design allows for greater movement, especially during physical activities, without the ear pressure often found in traditional in-ear headphones. The open-ear design also keeps users aware of their surroundings, such as hearing traffic, doorbells, or public announcements, which is important for safety and situational awareness. In terms of sound quality, the AeroClip 2 features 12 mm drivers, support for high-quality audio codecs like LDAC, and HearID technology that personalizes the sound to the user's hearing preferences. To make up for the lack of noise isolation in open-ear headphones, the device offers refined bass response. It also supports Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint connectivity for switching between devices, and an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance. The headphones come with wireless charging and offer up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge, which can be extended with the included case. A 10-minute fast charge provides several hours of additional use. The AeroClip 2 is part of Anker's broader rebranding strategy, which includes merging the Soundcore brand under the Anker name. This rebranding was announced ahead of the IFA 2026 electronics fair. Starting September 22, 2026, the AeroClip 2 will be available for purchase at 179.99 euros, placing it in the premium segment of the open-ear headphone market. Anker hopes this product will redefine the category by offering a single, versatile pair of headphones suitable for a wide range of daily activities.
