Ocean Colour Scene, a British rock band known for their role in the Britpop movement of the 1990s, has expressed interest in rejoining Oasis for the band's upcoming "Live 27" concerts at Knebworth in 2027. Oasis, fronted by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, has announced a 38-show tour that will include four nights at the Knebworth estate in September 2027. The tour will also feature performances at major venues in Scotland, England, and Ireland, including Glasgow’s Celtic Park, Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, and Ireland’s Slane Castle. The connection between Ocean Colour Scene and Oasis dates back to August 1996, when Ocean Colour Scene supported Oasis during their historic Knebworth performance. The event, which drew an estimated 125,000 people, is considered one of the defining moments of the Britpop era. During the show, Ocean Colour Scene performed their own hits, including "The Day We Caught The Train" and "The Riverboat Song," as well as a cover of The Small Faces' "Song Of A Baker." Singer Simon Fowler said the band would "love" to support Oasis again if invited, though he admitted they have very few memories of their original performance at Knebworth. Fowler described the 1996 event as both exhilarating and overwhelming, recalling only the intense opening of the set and the crowd’s raised arms, but not much in between. Guitarist Steve Craddock said he has no recollections of the day. Fowler mentioned that he was so nervous during the performance that he could barely think of how to walk. He recalled pressing a cine camera button given to him by his father, which caused the crowd to raise their arms in unison. He was surprised that he couldn’t remember the event, calling it "one of the biggest days of our lives." In preparation for the 30th anniversary of their classic Moseley Shoals album, Ocean Colour Scene will embark on a tour this November. The tour will feature performances at major venues across the UK, including London’s The O2, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, Cardiff’s Utilita Arena, and Belfast’s Telegraph Building.
