The Prix de Flore has released its shortlist for the 2026 edition, with ten literary works now in the running. The list will be further reduced on October 28, and the winner will be announced on November 4. Established in 1994 by Carole Chrétiennot and Frédéric Beigbeder, the Prix de Flore honors a bold and promising literary voice each year. The prize includes a monetary award of 6,150 euros and a unique perk: the winner can enjoy a glass of Pouilly-fumé at the Café de Flore for an entire year, with each glass engraved with their name. The prize was founded with the support of Françoise Sagan, a renowned French author, who served as the godmother of the first edition. The shortlisted works for the Prix de Flore 2026 are: Abdallah superstar by Iman Ahmed (Actes Sud); Le ciel ici déborde by Eva Bottega (Denoël); La punition by Arthur Dreyfus (P.O.L); Hyperkarma by Nicolas Idier (Stock); Stay free by Patrice Jean (Le Cherche Midi); Choses que je croyais perdues by Clémentine Mélois (Gallimard); Heures sauvages by Marie Petitcuénot (Héloïse d’Ormesson); Mais que fait ce sang sur le pull de Jennifer ? by Lucie Rico (P.O.L); Fuck Circus by Esther Teillard (Grasset); and Shanghai, cinq heures quarante by Ada Walter (Calmann-Lévy).
